Cameron County Judge Eddie Trevino, Jr.

Effective immediately, Cameron County Judge Eddie Trevino, Jr., has signed and declared Cameron County an area of disaster in response to significant threats due to the June 17, 2024, Severe Weather Event resulting from Tropical StormAlberto (24-0015 l 7Jun Tropical Weather).

Pursuant to the Disaster Proclamation by Governor Greg Abbott certifying that Tropical Storm Alberto poses a threat ofimminent disaster, including widespread and severe property damage, injury and loss of life due to widespread flooding, life-threatening storm surge, damaging wind, and heavy rainfall, Cameron County is hereby declared an area of disaster.

Residents are encouraged to take the necessary precautions to remain safe. This declaration is in effect immediately after itsissuance for a period of seven days and will continue to be renewed by the Commissioners’ Court of Cameron County.
