In a landmark event marking the beginning of the McAllen Nearshoring Industrial Park, Joaquin Spamer, President & CEO of CIL Group, delivered an inspiring speech that resonated with hope, collaboration, and forward thinking. His words at the groundbreaking ceremony celebrated the start of a significant construction project and highlighted a vision of progress and prosperity for the entire community.

Spamer began his speech with gratitude, acknowledging the collective efforts that brought the project to fruition. He emphasized the significance of the McAllen Nearshoring Industrial Park, describing it as more than a construction project – it’s innovation and a new chapter in regional development. The park symbolizes the concept of nearshoring, a strategy to bring production and manufacturing closer, fostering regional self-sufficiency and creating numerous job opportunities.

Highlighting the importance of teamwork, Spamer recognized the continuous support from local stakeholders, including McAllen City Mayor Javier Villalobos, City Manager Roy Rodriguez, and City Commissioners. Their commitment was instrumental in turning this ambitious vision into reality.

Spamer appreciated Juan Olaguibel, Superintendent of the Anzalduas and Hidalgo Bridges, its Board Members, the McAllen Economic Development Corporation, and the McAllen Chamber of Commerce for supporting local businesses. He also acknowledged his competitors in the industrial development sector, emphasizing their role in job creation and economic growth.

The speech was not just about celebrating a single industrial park but recognizing a collective achievement across South Texas. Spamer listed several industrial parks, including McAllen Palms Business Park, McAllen South Industrial Park, Sharyland Business Park, and many others, totaling over 1,900 acres with the potential to develop over 20 million square feet of prime industrial space.

Spamer concluded his speech by calling for unity and collaboration to promote South Texas as a fundamental player in North American supply chains. He echoed Governor Abbott’s sentiment of “One Region, One Voice,” urging the community to work together to showcase their strengths and attract further investments.
