IDEA Sports Park Academy and College Preparatory welcomed Brownsville Mayor John Cowen for a special campus visit and student-led discussion. The visit was aimed to provide students the opportunity to engage directly with a local leader whose career reflects the importance of representation and civic engagement in Brownsville.
Mayor Cowen participated in a read-aloud to a Kindergarten class in Academy, followed by a Q&A session with members of the Student Counsil in College Preparatory. Students prepared their own remarks and questions for the Mayor, emphasizing student voice and leadership development.
