Rio Grande Valley’s retail landmark will soon welcome new-to-market retailers Zara, H&M, Kendra Scott, REEDS Jewelers and Flip Flop Shops, as well as McAllen’s first Texas de Brazil. Palenque Grill, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and T-Mobile will also join La Plaza Mall as new shopping and dining destinations.

La Plaza Mall is currently in the midst of a dramatic, 200,000-square-foot expansion, that will accommodate up to 25 new specialty stores, four junior anchors and an exciting dining plaza with six first-to-market restaurants that will be prominently featured facing Interstate 2, with a grand outdoor terrace for patrons to enjoy dinner al fresco. Simon will also upgrade the interior and exterior of the existing mall with new mall entrances, flooring, LED lighting, skylights, upgraded restrooms, luxury seating and landscaping to completely enhance the look and feel of the property. A now-complete portion of the expansion includes two new parking decks, able to accommodate approximately 2,000 vehicles.
