EDINBURG, Texas – Hidalgo County Precinct 4 hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for the Precinct 4 Parking Lot Improvement Project located in San Carlos on Friday, June 2, 2023.
“We are going to start on major parking lot improvements that will provide plenty of safe parking spaces for the Hidalgo County San Carlos Head Start building, the UT Health RGV Primary Care Facility, the newly opened AHEC Annex, and the Hidalgo County San Carlos WIC Office,” stated Hidalgo County Precinct 4 Commissioner Ellie Torres.
The high traffic area will benefit with 45 additional parking lot spaces, lighted areas, a new digital marquee and a covered shelter for the Head Start San Carlos Center transportation waiting area.
“We are excited about the project and we appreciate the efforts Commissioner Torres has worked on to ensure safety and access to all families that utilize the services and resources of all agencies, including the Head Start San Carlos Center,” stated Hidalgo County Head Start Executive Director Irma Pena.
The project is scheduled for completion later this year.
