Boys & Girls Clubs of Edinburg RGV Board of Directors was recently honored with a League of EAGLES Award by Boys & Girls Clubs of America. The Board was recognized for their excellence in leadership in serving the children of Edinburg and surrounding communities.   

The League of EAGLES Award- Gold Level recognizes Board of Directors who achieved
95% to 100% of key performance standards for a strong board.  
The performance standards are:

Engage – Board meeting Attendance

- Advertisement -

Ask – Board members participate in face-to-face solicitations

Give – Board members make personal unrestricted financial gifts to the organization

Lead – Board members assist in achieving the strategic initiatives of the organization.

Evaluate – Board members have a written personal performance plan and evaluated annually

Serve – Board members are engaged in board governance


“Our board devotes countless hours to their community, and we are proud of our Board Members,” said Joe Quiroga, Chief Volunteer Office. “They dedicate additional time and effort to attend training and to reach out to state and national agencies on behalf of their communities’ children.”

Since 1969, the Boys & Girls Club has played an integral role in the Edinburg community, providing daily programs and services to over 18,000 young people.  During the School year the Club is open Monday – Friday, 3:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. and during the summer the hours are 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.  On all ECISD holidays and teachers work days the Legacy Center is open 7:30 am – 5:30 p.m.  The Club has moved its main site and administration to its new building the Legacy Center located at 702 Cullen Street (Rogers and 281). The Club offers programs that emphasize character and leadership development, education and career development, health and life skills, the arts, and sport, fitness and recreation.
