McAllen, TX – Boys & Girls Club of McAllen (BGCM) is proud to announce its 7th Annual McAllen Tamale Fest. This one-day event will take place Saturday, November 23, 2019, at the historic Archer Park in Downtown McAllen, 101 N. Main St., McAllen, TX. 78501.
The McAllen Tamale Fest is BGCM’s signature event which has proven to be a success since its inauguration in 2013. This is a family event that celebrates tamales, culture, and local traditions. The McAllen Tamale Fest consists of a tamale-spreading contest and a very fun tamale-eating contest! Attendants will enjoy live entertainment, artisan booths, food vendors, tamale vendors, and children activities. There is no entrance fee and the whole community is encouraged to attend.
McAllen Tamale Fest is presented by Delia’s Tamales. Delia’s Tamales will be present at the event selling their popular tamales from their Food Truck. The Tamale Eating Contest will take place at 8 pm and all tamales from the event will be supplied by Delia’s Tamales. BGCM wants to give a special thank you to Delia’s for their continuous support.
BGCM is currently seeking tamale vendors, food vendors, artisans, and sponsors to assist this family-friendly event. If interested, please contact Yirla R. Gonzalez Nolan at (956) 682-5791.
