EDINBURG, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents rescue three subjects left behind by smugglers in two separate incidents.

Yesterday afternoon, the McAllen Border Patrol station received information regarding an emergency call for assistance for two subjects who were lost in the brush near Havana, Texas. Additionally, the caller advised the second traveler had lost consciousness and was in need of immediate help. Agents responded to the last known GPS coordinates of the call and an extensive search ensued. Within an hour, agents located the two lost subjects and requested Emergency Medical Services (EMS)  for the unresponsive man. Border Patrol Emergency Medical Technicians treated the subject with oxygen and intravenous fluids and carried him out of the brush. Upon arrival, EMS transported the man to a local hospital for further treatment and evaluation.

Early this morning, the Kenedy County Sherriff’s Office notified the Kingsville station of a 911 call they received. The caller stated he was alone, tired and thirsty and could no longer continue on his journey. Agents responded to the last known GPS coordinates of the caller and after a brief search, located the Honduran national. Agents provided the man with basic medical attention and transported him to the station for further processing.
