EDINBURG, Texas – Over the weekend, U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested a man wanted for murder and two sexual predators in three separate incidents.
On Friday, Weslaco Border Patrol Agents arrested a group of seven illegal aliens who crossed the Rio Grande near Donna, Texas. During processing, agents identified a Mexican national in the group whose record checks revealed an outstanding warrant in Mexico for murder.
The following day, Falfurrias agents apprehended a group of nine illegal aliens attempting to circumvent the immigration checkpoint. In the group, agents identified a Mexican national whose record checks revealed previous felony convictions for multiple sex offenses with a minor in Santa Rosa, California. The man received a sentence of 44 months in prison.
Yesterday, Rio Grande City agents apprehended a Guatemalan national near Roma, Texas. The man’s records showed a previous deportation and an arrest and conviction for sexual assault of a child under the age of 13 in Clifton, New Jersey. The man received 86 days of confinement.
The Border Patrol is processing the subjects accordingly.
