Border Patrol Honors Citizen Academy Participants

BROWNSVILLE, Texas – On February 20, 2019, the Brownsville Border Patrol Station held a graduation ceremony for six participants who successfully completed their Citizens Academy.

The five-week academy encompassed a variety of events and activities to include brush walks along the Rio Grande, presentations by the riverine unit, intermediate force instructors, and firearms familiarization and range safety.

Brownsville Station’s Patrol Agent in Charge Jorge L. Gonzalez and JTF-W STC Chief of Staff Jaime Salazar addressed the graduates, presented certificates, and thanked them for their perseverance and dedication throughout the academy.

The public is invited to learn more about the Border Patrol during a five-week Citizens’ Academy.

Participants will learn about the Border Patrol’s history, mission, and local operations to enforce immigration and criminal law. There is no charge to participate.
