Border Patrol Dismantles Two Stash Houses

EDINBURG, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents, with the assistance of the Hidalgo County Constables Office, disrupted a human smuggling event that led to the discovery of two active stash houses.

On Tuesday, a Hidalgo County Constables Deputy working in collaboration with Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol agents conducted a vehicle stop at the intersection of Bryan Road and Expressway 83 in Mission, Texas. During the investigation, agents identified all five occupants to be illegally present in the United States from the countries of Mexico, Honduras and El Salvador.

As a result of the traffic stop, Rio Grande Valley Sector agents gathered information and identified two separate residences located in Edinburg, Texas, operating as a stash houses. Inside the first home, agents and deputies discovered 10 illegal aliens from the countries of Ecuador, Guatemala, and Mexico. At the second residence, agents apprehended nine illegal aliens from the countries Mexico, Honduras, and Ecuador.

The Border Patrol is processing all subjects accordingly.

The Rio Grande Valley Sector currently has multiple campaigns focused on rescues and danger awareness, such as “Operation Big Rig” and “No Se Arriesgue” to combat smuggling and ultimately save lives. Call 911 to report suspicious activity; “They’re humans, not cargo!”
