EDINBURG, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley continue to encounter criminal aliens.
On Wednesday, Rio Grande City agents arrested a Mexican national near Roma, Texas, after attempting to illegally enter the country. Record checks revealed the subject, identified as Leobardo Gonzalez-Cruz had been arrested by Westchester County District for promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child less than 17 years of age. Gonzalez was convicted to one-year imprisonment.
That same day, Brownsville agents arrested an adult male Mexican national near Brownsville, Texas. Record checks revealed the subject was arrested by the Shreveport County Sheriff’s Department for sexual battery and convicted to 10 years imprisonment
The Border Patrol is processing the subjects accordingly.
