HIDALGO, Texas – Rio Grande Valley Sector (RGV) Border Patrol agents discover $100K worth of marijuana inside a tunnel in Hidalgo, Texas.
Last night, McAllen Border Patrol Station agents in Hidalgo, Texas, discovered a man-made tunnel leading to a water drainage system. A search of the area revealed 30 bundles of marijuana tied together for the purpose of being pulled through the tunnel. Inside the drainage system, agents discovered two Mexican nationals illegally present in the United States.
The bundles of marijuana weighed approximately 135 pounds and are worth over $100K. The marijuana was turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration. Border Patrol processed the subjects accordingly.
