In August, Brownsville Navigation District Commissioners John Reed, John Wood, and Ernesto Gutierrez toured Forza Steel’s new $85 million, 650,000-square-foot facility at the Port of Brownsville.

The Mexico-based company is the latest to capitalize on the port’s nearshoring advantage and strong logistics network. Now operational with 65 employees, the plant sources steel from Pittsburgh to manufacture pipes and tubes for the automotive, construction, and oil and gas industries.

Once at full capacity, Forza Steel is expected to generate more than 150 direct manufacturing jobs and over 450 indirect jobs, reinforcing the U.S. manufacturing supply chain and boosting economic growth in the region.
