Pharr, TX – Blue Cross Blue Shield has given the Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley a grant of $25,000 as part of the Healthy Kids Healthy Families Initiative. These funds were used to help feed 118,893 elementary children and high schoolers through the Food Bank RGV’s various programs. Programs included: Operation Kid Pack, Kids Café, 25 school pantries, the outdoor classroom at the Gem Valley Farm community garden and helped deliver fresh produce to families in food deserts.
