Lone Star National Bank (LSNB) has announced its participation in the Texas Small Business Credit Initiative (TSBCI), a state-administered program designed to expand lending opportunities for small businesses. The bank stated it is “proud to partner with the State of Texas and the Governor’s Office in supporting small businesses across our state through the TSBCI Program.”

The TSBCI, funded under the federal State Small Business Credit Initiative and reauthorized through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, provides states with resources to help entrepreneurs who face barriers to traditional financing. Instead of distributing funds directly to businesses, the program relies on approved financial institutions to deploy loans with risk-sharing guarantees, strengthening local banks’ ability to serve small enterprises.

For LSNB, this means offering loans ranging from $5,000 to $20 million, with loan guarantees of up to 80 percent. “Helping Texas entrepreneurs grow, create jobs, and strengthen our communities” is how the bank describes its role in the program. By taking part in TSBCI, LSNB is positioned to support a wide spectrum of business owners—from startups to established companies—who may be ready to expand, rebuild, or launch new ventures.

Programs under the initiative are specifically designed for small businesses, underserved entrepreneurs, and those facing unique challenges in accessing capital. The Governor’s Office of Economic Development and Tourism highlights that TSBCI helps “finance creditworthy small businesses that are not receiving the loans they need to expand and create jobs.”

The bank encourages interested businesses to connect with its lending specialists. “Ready to build? We’re ready to lend,” LSNB emphasized in its announcement, reinforcing its message that “Your growth is our business.” Business owners in the Rio Grande Valley and beyond can visit their nearest LSNB location or call 1-800-580-0322 to learn more about how to access the program.
