Beatriz Montesinos, representing Project IMG and Doctoras Mexicanas en Estados Unidos, was recognized during the Women with Purpose celebration for her work in guiding women through academic and professional pathways in the United States.

Montesinos was introduced as part of a group of partner organization representatives by Raquel Mahe, who invited participants “to briefly share the support they offer and how they contribute to the well-being of our community” before calling each name, including Montesinos.

She was selected for her role in supporting women, particularly international medical graduates, as they navigate complex systems when arriving in the United States. During her remarks, Montesinos said the organization’s mission is to “welcome you, guide you, and provide you with the tools you need to navigate the system.”

Montesinos explained that Project IMG offers guidance throughout the entire process, including academic and administrative steps required for professional advancement. She noted that the organization also supports individuals who choose not to pursue medical licensure by helping them explore alternative career paths.

“All the assistance we provide is completely free of charge,” she said, adding that the organization also facilitates study groups designed to foster collaboration and mutual support among participants.

The event was organized by Roberta Garza through Mujeres Arriba RGV as part of its seventh annual celebration in commemoration of International Women’s Month, highlighting the contributions of women across the Rio Grande Valley.
