MISSION, TEXAS – Mark your calendar for the long awaited Mission Community BBQ Throwdown highlighting local culinary chefs, the Valley’s top restaurants, and professional and highly competitive cook-off teams where they’ll be battling it out for the best and most flavorful, smoky, and mouth-watering meats.

This year’s Mission Community BBQ Throwdown will feature live entertainment ranging in genres that’ll leave you dancing through the Texas sunset. Cool down in this summer heat while sipping on craft and domestic beverages at this year’s Beer Garden, presented by The Loretto at Mission.

The event is open to foodies, families, and friends of all ages. The event will also include a play area for children, handmade craft and artisan vendors, and other local food and beverage merchants.

The Mission Community BBQ Throwdown will be held on Saturday, July 22nd, 2017, from 5PM to 10PM, at Mission Market Square located at 202 W. Tom Landry, Mission, Texas 78572

Proceeds from the event will benefit Mission CISD and Sharyland ISD students through scholarships who are furthering their education in E-STEAM programs (Entrepreneurship, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics).  Our goal is to enhance lives of our community and youth with programs and partnerships that enrich education, develop leadership, and better our region as a whole.  Our desire is for all students that graduate high school to be fully prepared for college and a career.
