The Justice Department, together with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), today filed a civil lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against TikTok Inc., ByteDance Ltd., and their affiliates (together, TikTok) for violating the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act and its implementing regulations (COPPA) in connection with the popular TikTok app.

Dr. Sandra Hansmann, has recently taken on the role of Assistant Provost and Instructional Professor at Texas A&M University’s Higher Education Center in McAllen.
