Today, Another Side of Us, in cooperation with the McAllen Chamber of Commerce, city residents, and community partners, released Our Home — a new video that pushes back against headlines that wrongly portray Texas border communities as unsafe, or worse, un-American.

Hundreds of local leaders, business partners, and other community organizations were in attendance as Pharr Mayor, Dr. Ambrosio Hernandez, hosted the third annual State of the City Address on January 17, 2019.

PolluxCastor Creative, in cooperation with the city of McAllen, residents and community partners in McAllen, launched the Another Side of Us project on August 7, 2018 with the release of Welcome — a new video to challenge misconceptions about life in a Latino-majority city on the Texas-Mexico border.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Independent School District (PSJA ISD) was presented with a Jobs and Education for Texas (JET) Grant from the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) at the City of Pharr’s State of the City Address held at the Pharr Events Center on Thursday, Jan. 17.

After an extensive search to lead the administration and oversight of the daily operations of the City of Pharr, city officials announced the selection of Alex Meade as its city manager late last year. Meade brings a wealth of professional experience, leadership capacity, and a progressive vision that aligns with Pharr's goals and direction, according to Pharr Mayor Ambrosio Hernandez, MD.

Just 11 days into the new year and 2019 has already cemented itself as a record-breaking year for the McAllen Performing Arts Center (MPA). The McAllen Performing Arts Center started the year off on a high note with tickets for an astounding 35 events in this year currently on sale to the public

South Texas College is seeking to be the first point of contact for students from mixed status households seeking to improve their lives through education.

The Chamber's Government Affairs Council will meet at the Chamber on Wednesday, January 30 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. This month, our guest speaker will be Mayor Jim Darling who will discuss the city of McAllen's Legislative Agenda.
