Andres Altamirano, an International Baccalaureate (IB) English Language Arts teacher at IDEA College Preparatory Brownsville, has been recognized by the Yale University’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions as a recipient of the 2019 Yale Educator Award.
Roosevelt Students learn Lifesaving Skills
Ten students at Roosevelt Alternative School had the opportunity to learn some important lifesaving skills. They were able to participate with the campus staff in a special Stop the Bleed training that was conducted at the school by the Mission Fire Department.

The Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce was the recipient of several marketing awards from the Texas Festivals and Events Association (TFEA) for their promotion of Texas Onion Fest, held at the end of March at Mayor Pablo G. Peña City Park.
