As the new fiscal year begins, the McAllen Convention Center and Performing Arts Center has redefined itself as the entertainment capital of South Texas. Hosting over 500 events over the last year (ranging from festivals, Broadway touring series to national/local conventions).

The awardee was born and raised in Rio Grande City but lived mostly in Mission. He graduated from college with a Master’s Degree in School Administration.

A special documentary screening of “Remember My Soul” will take place at the Museum of South Texas History Sunday, Nov. 19, at 2 p.m. Jillian Glantz, the director of the documentary and recipient of the Engaged Scholar Award for Creative Works, will host a Q & A after the screening.

Mission CISD recently partnered with Area 1 Special Olympics Bowling to host one of five bowling tournaments in the Rio Grande Valley. The tournament was held at Incredibowl Entertainment Center on November 12-14, 2019.

Several Mission High School (MHS) students returned from the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Regional choir competitions with some honors. Five earned spots in the regional choir.
