Author Adrianna Cuevas to visit virtually with PSJA elementary students

PHARR – Children’s book author Adrianna Cuevas will be visiting Ford Elementary virtually on Wednesday, Nov. 4 to speak to students about the influences for her work, writing process, and her upcoming new book. 

“We commend our Library Services Department for seeking creative ways to keep our students engaged in the love of reading,” said PSJA Superintendent Dr. Jorge L. Arredondo. “These activities foster the importance of reading in their academic success.”

Cuevas is a first-generation Cuban-American from Miami, Florida who now resides in Austin. She wrote the book “The Total Eclipse of Nestor Lopez” and “Cuba in My Pocket,” which will be released in the fall of 2021.

“My students and I are so excited to meet Ms. Cuevas this Wednesday,” said Ford Elementary Librarian Rachel Alvarez. “We are grateful that our PSJA Library Services Department continues to seek out and provide enriching experiences, like this author visit, to keep our students engaged during this time of virtual learning and social distancing.”
