The Pharr Community Theater, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, proudly announces its spring production of “A Wrinkle in Time,” adapted by Morgan Gould from the beloved novel by Madeleine L’Engle. -To be directed by the Dalia Bouchee, this captivating play follows Meg Murry as she embarks on a perilous journey through time and space to rescue her father, who has vanished into the mysterious tesseract dimension. Accompanied by her gifted brother, Charles Wallace, and their friend Calvin, Meg is guided by the enigmatic Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which. These celestial beings equip the young travelers with the strength and knowledge to confront the encroaching darkness represented by the ominous Red, in an epic battle between light and shadow.
This production offers a wide array of acting opportunities, including 3 roles for young females (ages 13-17), 6 roles for young males (ages 8-17), 5 roles for adult females (ages 20-50), and 5 roles for adult males (ages 20-40). It’s important to note that all acting roles within Pharr Community Theater are entirely voluntary, as we are a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching our community through the arts. In addition to acting roles, paid technical positions are available for individuals interested in areas such as stage management and others. Open auditions for the roles aforementioned will be held on Saturday and Sunday, January 18 & 19 between 2pm and 5pm, on a first come first served bases, at 213 W Newcombe Ave. Pharr, TX. No appointments are necessary. Sides from the script will be available at the audition for the different roles. The first reading for those selected will be on January 26 at 7pm and rehearsals will run until April 16, to be scheduled Monday’s through Friday’s between 7:00 pm and 9:30 pm. (Initially children will be dismissed by 8:30 pm) There will be some time off in between for Spring Break and Easter. The play will run for 6 to 8 performances between April 17-26 in Pharr.
