Rio Grande Valley, Texas – The UTRGV Office of Community Relations and the Division of Strategic Enrollment at UTRGV is partnering with the University Interscholastic League (UIL) to host, for the first time in the Rio Grande Valley, the Student Activity Conference.
The UIL conducts four Student Activity Conferences every fall, featuring all of the high school academic events. The conferences – designed to help students begin to prepare for high school academic and fine arts contests – are free, and no pre-registration is required.
The UIL/UTRGV Student Activities Conference will acquaint students and coaches with the nature and rules of UIL academic contests. Conference workshops help prepare students for the spring competitions and provide opportunities to meet state directors and experts for each contest.
“UTRGV is pleased to work with the UIL to host the event,” said Velinda Reyes, UTRGV assistant vice president for Community Programs and Operations. “This event is a great opportunity for high school students and coaches to enhance skills in the areas of interest and learn best practices to prepare for competition.
