SOUTH TEXAS – The American Red Cross is here to help people who may be experiencing major roadblocks to recovery after the recent flooding in South Texas. Financial assistance is available to those who have qualifying damage.

The Red Cross is working to complete damage assessment in partnership with state and county officials across the impact areas. We are actively reaching out to specific individuals whose homes the Red Cross has confirmed were destroyed or sustained major structural damage. For some properties, we already have contact information and will send an invitation to enroll via email, text message, or phone call directly from the American Red Cross.
For others who we do not have contact information for, the Red Cross is encouraging people to visit redcross.org/gethelp to register online or call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767) to provide the information needed to open a case and receive this help.
If we determine there are communities with known damage where we haven’t received responses, we will collaborate with local community leaders and non-governmental organizations to conduct targeted outreach to help create equitable access to this program.
