On September 14, 2017, Free Trade Alliance San Antonio will host the first of two CEO Leadership Luncheons. The first featured speaker will be Chairman, President and CEO of Valero Energy, Mr. Joe Gorder. Prior to his appointment as Chairman in December 2014 and CEO in May 2014, Gorder served as Chief Operating Officer and President for refining operations, and commercial operations in marketing, supply, logistics and transportation at Valero Energy.
San Antonio-based Valero Energy, with 10,000 employees, is the world’s largest independent petroleum refiner and one of the largest ethanol producers, and its assets include 15 petroleum refineries and 11 ethanol plants. The petroleum refineries are located in the United States (U.S.), Canada and the United Kingdom (U.K.), and the ethanol plants are located in the Mid-Continent region of the U.S. In addition, Valero owns the general partner and a majority limited partner interest in Valero Energy Partners LP, a midstream master limited partnership. Approximately 7,400 outlets carry Valero’s brand names in the U.S., Canada, the U.K. and Ireland.
“Valero Energy has successfully navigated challenges that arise out of both national and international changes. Although we are looking at energy here, I believe that what Joe Gorder will share has broad applicability. Our current environment is one of shocks and shifts both nationally, as we’re dealing with the devastation from Harvey and internationally, as with the renegotiation of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and the Mexico Energy Reform. I believe Joe’s perspectives will be very insightful and enlightening.” said José E. Martinez, President and CEO of Free Trade Alliance San Antonio. Mr. Martinez added that the luncheon also features a Q&A session which will allow attendees to ask additional questions of Mr. Gorder.
The luncheon will take place at Vistas of Valero, 1 Valero Way in San Antonio and will begin at 11:30 am. For tickets and details, visit www.freetradealliance.org or contact Saani S. Fong at ssfong@freetradealliance.org or 210-229-9036.
