PHARR – Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD (PSJA ISD) leaders encourage families to apply for the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) funds.

All PSJA ISD families are eligible for Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer funds and are encouraged to apply before the Friday, August 13 deadline.

PSJA ISD Superintendent Dr. Jorge L. Arredondo was among a few Superintendents throughout the state advocating for these funds to assist families.

“It was my honor to advocate for this measure to take place, and we don’t our families to miss out on this great assistance program that provides $1,200 per child,” Dr. Arredondo said.

According to the Texas Health & Human Services website, if your household currently receives SNAP and you are eligible for P-EBT benefits, they will be put on your current Lone Star Card. If you are not currently receiving SNAP, you will receive a new card in the mail.

“It’s important that families apply for the P-EBT benefit,” said PSJA Child Nutrition Director Imelda Palacios. “These funds help families buy food for their children who may not have had access to free school meals during the school year due to school closures.”

Please note that you will need your child’s campus student ID for the application. To apply, visit www.psjaisd.us/pebt or call 211.
