Pharr, Texas – At a city commission meeting held away from city hall at the Pharr Events Center, Pharr’s new city manager, Alex Meade, was formally introduced to members of the public and the media. Meade sat at the dais alongside the city commissioners and smoothly oversaw his first city commission meeting.


Mayor Pro-Tem Bobby Carillo introduced Meade, stating, “Alex Meade has a history of success of helping communities across South Texas expand their capacity for growth to be ready and competitive.
He is an innovative, forward-thinking, well-respected professional, whose education and professional experience make him an ideal fit for us here in Pharr,” Carrillo continued.


Meade praised the Pharr City Commission, thanking them for entrusting him with the opportunity to lead Pharr into the future.
Meade added that he was impressed with the high level of professionalism and expertise among Pharr’s department directors and employees, adding that he was eager to get to work with them to move the city commission’s vision forward.


”I am excited to join this community to further develop this regional vision of opportunity and prosperity for our Pharr community and our Pharr families,” Meade stated. “As City Manager, I am excited to work with the Mayor, City Commission, administration, and city employees to implement new ideas and governing strategies to improve and streamline city services and programs, thereby benefiting our quality of services and the community at large,” he continued.
