McALLEN, Texas — AIM Media Charities, the charitable arm of AIM Media Texas, has made a $25,000 donation to the Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley to help address the growing need for food assistance among Texans affected by uncertainty surrounding Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.

The check presentation was made by Stephan Wingert, Publisher and Regional Vice President of AIM Media Texas, on behalf of AIM Media Charities. The donation will support the Food Bank RGV’s mission to provide nutritious food and resources to individuals and families struggling with food insecurity across the Valley.

According to the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC), more than 310,000 Texans in the Rio Grande Valley are currently experiencing a disruption in SNAP benefits—a number that continues to grow as families cope with fluctuating economic conditions. Donations such as AIM Media Charities’ contribution make a direct impact by helping to fund the purchase and distribution of meals across Cameron, Hidalgo, and Willacy counties.

“We are grateful for the support from AIM Media Charities,” said Libby Saenz, CEO of the Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley. “This contribution comes at an important time, as the number of families seeking assistance has grown significantly in the past month, including over 14,000 federal workers and active military in our service area. It will help us continue providing essential food support to families in our community.”

AIM Media Texas publishes The MonitorValley Morning Star, and Brownsville Herald, serving communities across the Rio Grande Valley with trusted local journalism and community engagement. Through AIM Media Charities, the organization supports local initiatives that strengthen families and foster community well-being.
