EDINBURG, Texas – Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol agents arrested six subjects with gang affiliations in three days.

On April 2, 2022, Rio Grande City Border Patrol agents working in Roma, apprehended three single adult migrants after they illegally entered the United States. Record checks on a 22-year-old Salvadoran national revealed he was a confirmed Mara-Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang member.

Hours later, McAllen Border Patrol Station agents apprehended a group of five migrants near La Joya. Record checks on a Salvadoran national, revealed she is a MS-13 gang member with extensive criminal history to include domestic assault, possession of methamphetamine, and theft.

That afternoon, Kingsville Border Patrol Station agents responded to a call for assistance from Kleberg County Sheriff’s Office deputies regarding a traffic stop for a possible human smuggling case in Ricardo. Agents arrived and determined six subjects were unlawfully present in the U.S. The vehicle was seized by KCSO deputies, and all subjects were transported to a Border Patrol facility. At the station, record checks on a Honduran national, revealed he was convicted in Arlington, Texas for attempt to commit indecency with a child sexual contact in 2019. He was sentenced to two years confinement.

On April 3, McAllen Border Patrol Station agents apprehended five migrants near Havana. Record checks on a Mexican national, revealed he is a Gulf Coast Cartel member. He was previously removed from the United States.

Later that day, Kingsville Border Patrol Station agents apprehended two migrants attempting to circumvent the Javier Vega Jr. Checkpoint. During processing, record checks revealed a Salvadoran national as a MS-13 gang member who has been removed from the United States numerous times.

On April 4, McAllen Border Patrol Station agents apprehended a group of four migrants near La Joya. During processing, record checks revealed a male subject from Honduras was an 18th Street gang member.
