Texas border Business
Harlingen, TX – R Communications announces that effective February 5, 2015, their purchase of KMBH Channel 38 television was final. R Communications has served the Rio Grande Valley and Northern Mexico in radio since 2011, and is pleased to add TV to its entertainment line-up.
Currently KMBH transmits on two channels, 38.1 and 38.2, airing PBS and Vme Spanish language TV respectively. The company intends to keep those channels as they are, especially continuing to broadcast PBS; however that final decision lies with PBS. Programming adjustments will continue over the course of 2015, implementing more local programming in order to identify more closely with the needs and unique culture of the border.
Having one of the Valley’s strongest TV signals with 100,000 kW of power, RTV is well-equipped to serve McAllen, Harlingen and Brownsville viewers. KMBH is currently available over-the-air and on Time Warner Cable channel 881. RTV 38.2 will soon launch local Spanish News with Yolanda De La Cruz at 5:00 and 10:00 P.M.
R Communications’ Radio management team, including Market Manager, Romeo Herrera and Director of Sales, Maria Alvarez, will also manage television operations.
