AUSTIN – April 10, 2026 – This week, Governor Greg Abbott selected multiple qualified candidates to serve on behalf of Texans.

Angelina And Neches River Authority Board Of Directors – Governor Abbott reappointed Jody Anderson, Kimberly “Kim” McRae Childs, Ph.D., and Thomas Murphy to the Angelina and Neches River Authority Board of Directors for terms set to expire on September 5, 2029. Additionally, the Governor named Jody Anderson as president of the Board. The Board constructs, maintains, and operates in the valleys of the Neches River and its tributaries.

Early Childhood Intervention Advisory Committee – Governor Abbott reappointed Rachel C. Bowden, Cynthia D. Lee, Ed.D., and Allison P. Wilson and appointed Rebeca Ciesielski, Susana Perez, and Jennifer Villarreal, Ed.D. to the Early Childhood Intervention Advisory Committee for terms set to expire on February 1, 2031. Additionally, the Governor appointed Mandy Young and Representative Alan Schoolcraft to the board for terms set to expire on February 1, 2029. The Committee advises the Texas Health and Human Services Commission Division for Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) Services on development and implementation of policies that constitute the statewide ECI system.

School Land Board – Governor Abbott reappointed Gilbert “Gil” Burciaga, Marcella Burke, Brad Curlee and David Eyler to the School Land Board for terms set to expire on August 29, 2027. The Board manages the acquisition, sale, and mineral leasing of the lands that comprise the Permanent School Fund, which contributes billions of dollars each year to public education in Texas.

Texas 1836 Project Advisory Committee – Governor Abbott reappointed Don Frazier, Ph.D. and Greg Sindelar and appointed Ernesto Rodriguez, III to the Texas 1836 Project Advisory Committee for terms set to expire on September 1, 2027. Frazier will continue to serve as chair of the Committee. The Texas 1836 Project Advisory Committee was established to promote patriotic education and increase awareness of the Texas values that continue to stimulate boundless prosperity across this state.

Texas State Technical College (TSTC) System Board Of Regents – Governor Abbott appointed Frank Denton and reappointed Kathy A. Powell Stewart, D.N.P. and Ron Widup to the Texas State Technical College (TSTC) System Board of Regents for terms set to expire on August 31, 2031.

Texas State University System Board of Regents – Governor Greg Abbott appointed John “Johnny” Weisman and reappointed Charlie Amato and Bill Scott to the Texas State University System Board of Regents for terms set to expire on February 1, 2031.
