FALFURRIAS, Texas â€“ U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested a United States citizen after a failed cocaine smuggling attempt.

Last night, Falfurrias agents working at the immigration checkpoint referred a vehicle to the secondary inspection area after a Border Patrol K-9 alert. At secondary, agents searched the vehicle and located more than 75 pounds of cocaine, worth an estimated $2.5M. Agents arrested the driver and escorted him to the station for processing. Border Patrol turned the case over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Border Patrol processed the case accordingly.
