Residents can expect to see city crews working on various street and road improvement projects across Edinburg after the City Council approved a $3 million budget dedicated to this year’s Capital Pavement Improvement Program.
City officials identified streets in need of repair based on resident feedback and work orders through the Public Works Department. Each road undergoes a rating process where it is assigned a Pavement Condition Index Score. City crews determine the amount of distress to the streets and use the scores to assist in prioritizing necessary repairs. Baker Drive is the first street to undergo improvements, which is expected to be completed by Friday morning.
Our residents are the eyes and ears of our community and through the Edinburg2040 Townhalls, surveys, and 311 call center requests, the city of Edinburg has been able to work alongside the public to ensure their concerns are addressed and their vision for the future of our city is carried out.
Residents are encouraged to call 311 to report their concerns related to the condition of our roadways so that they may be evaluated for future projects.
