The 28th Annual VAMOS Golf Tournament, a revered gathering with a noble mission, provided the backdrop for this year’s Lexus raffle. This landmark event is celebrated for its commitment to generating scholarship funds, aiding graduating seniors from low socioeconomic backgrounds in their educational pursuits. The tournament’s climax, the raffle drawing, offered attendees the exhilarating chance to win a brand-new Lexus, thanks to the generous sponsorship and partnership of North Park Lexus Rio Grande Valley.
The reception not only lauded the lucky recipient of the 2024 Lexus but also served as a heartfelt expression of gratitude towards all the participants, sponsors, and benefactors. Since its inception in 1996 by visionary local business leaders, VAMOS has been at the forefront of addressing the educational challenges faced by students in the Rio Grande Valley. Through its dedication and community support, VAMOS has successfully disbursed $25 million in four-year renewable scholarships to 1,187 scholars, significantly impacting the university graduation rates in the region.
