RIO GRANDE VALLEY, Texas – IDEA Public Schools in the Rio Grande Valley is proud to announce that 20 seniors have been selected as matches through the QuestBridge National College Match program, earning a full four-year scholarship to some of the nation’s top colleges and universities. Among this year’s standout seniors is Arely Cosino from IDEA Alamo College Prep, who was matched with Harvard University. Arely serves as captain of the cheer team and president of both Student Council and the Spanish Club. One of her most impactful contributions has been founding Global Minds Tutoring, a program that supports displaced high school students who need translation assistance and academic guidance.
“I am grateful to QuestBridge for seeing the potential in me and Harvard for believing in my story,” said IDEA Alamo Senior Arely Cosino. “I am the proud daughter of hardworking parents, and I am proof that with opportunity, anything is possible.”
IDEA students earned matches to several top institutions, including Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Stanford University, Columbia University, Rice University, Dartmouth College, University of Pennsylvania, University of Virginia, Williams College, Washington University in St. Louis, Notre Dame University, Emory University, Hamilton College, and the College of the Holy Cross.
“We are incredibly proud of each of our selected seniors as they take this next step toward becoming the future leaders our world needs,” said Jill Dominguez, Area Superintendent at IDEA Public Schools in the RGV. “Their achievements show what is possible when students are surrounded by high expectations, dedicated educators, and a school culture that believes deeply in their potential.”
