McAllen, TX- The McAllen Citizens League will host the candidates for the 13th Court of Appeals, 449th State District Court and the District 36 State Representative races at their Noon Lunch meeting on Thursday January 28th. The meeting will be held at the Salvation Army Center on 23rd Street at Pecan in McAllen.
Candidates include Justice Gregory Perkes, Leticia Hinojosa & Carlos Valdez for the Court of Appeals, Judge Jesse Contreras, Jaime Aleman and Renee Betancourt for the 449th & for State Representative, incumbent Sergio Muñoz, Jr. & Abraham Padron.
The League’s political forum format allows each candidate a 3 minute opening address with a one minute follow up/ rebuttal. After all candidates have spoken, question from League member only will be fielded.
“Due to the number of candidates participating in this forum and to allow ample time for questions, we are extending the time of this meeting to 1:30” said Christopher Julian, President of the League. “With the help of our Program Chair, Ernest Aliseda, we will have 100% participation from the candidate, Julian concluded.
