The press conference will coincide with the 10th Annual “Purple Day” Domestic Violence Prevention Event, which aims to provide prevention education to the general public on the topic of domestic violence.

There will also be a Survivor March to celebrate the thousands of survivors who have left abusive relationships. “The celebration will include free food, music, prevention activities, and much more,” said Criminal District Attorney Toribio “Terry” Palacios. “The theme for this year’s event is ‘WE ARE UNBREAKABLE” and it underscores the importance of working together to help survivors of domestic violence leave abusive relationships and thrive to live a life free of violence. The message is clear: there is help available and we want to encourage victims to seek help.”
