RIO GRANDE VALLEY, Texas – University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women’s basketball team learned on Monday that graduate student Taylor Muff is part of the All-Western Athletic Conference Second Team and the All-Newcomer Team, as voted on by the league head coaches.
Muff averaged 15.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.2 steals during WAC play. Muff has reached in double-figure scoring in 15 out the 18 WAC games this season with five games over 20 points, including a career-high 28 points against Sam Houston.
Muff also recorded four of her five double-doubles this season in WAC play with the most recent coming against Tarleton where she recorded a performance of 25 points and a career-high tying 13 rebounds.
Overall, Muff has started in all 30 games this season and is averaging 14.0 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.1 steals per game.
UTRGV enters the WAC Tournament as the #8 seed and will face #9 Seattle U on Tuesday at 2 p.m. (CT) at Michelob ULTRA Arena. Fans can watch the game in the United States on ESPN+ or internationally at WACsports.com/Watch.
