The Sociology Department and the Centers for Learning Excellence at South Texas College (STC) will be hosting a Family Day event on Saturday, May 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mid-Valley Campus.

South Texas College celebrates Family Day at Mid-Valley Campus

South Texas College’s Mid-Valley Campus celebrated the opening of new construction including a Health Professions and Sciences Building that spans over 77,000 square feet. The Mid-Valley Campus Library was also renovated and expanded. The Student Services Building was expanded to include a new enrollment center that will assist the more than 3,500 students that register for classes at the campus.

South Texas College will hold its first President’s Advisory Council Luncheon on Friday, April 27. Law enforcement professionals from across the region will begin offering their recommendations for identifying and developing training programs for STC's Regional Center for Public Safety Excellence (RCPSE). Hundreds from the community, along with current and prospective students attended the annual event, which included information booths, hands-on displays, equipment, demonstrations, and a fashion show highlighting today's trends from various career fields.

The Office of Veterans Affairs at South Texas College has organized its next Veterans Expo to be held on three campuses beginning April 17. The first Expo will take place at STC's Technology Campus. The Pecan Campus Veterans Expo will take place at the library on April 18, and the Mid-Valley Expo will take place on April 25. Time for all events are from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Created as a resource for veterans in the community, the Expo will consist of area vendors who be on hand distributing information of the benefits and services available to them.
