Anyone wishing to help veterans this 4th of July just needs to lace up their running shoes!
Part of the City of McAllen’s Independence Day Celebration presented by H-E-B is an Independence Day 4K Run – approximately 2.5 miles – to benefit Team Red White and Blue, a national veterans’ organization whose mission it is to enrich the lives of America’s veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity.
The Independence Day 4K Run will start at 7:00 a.m. on July 3, 2021 before the rest of the festivities of the day. The race is open to anyone 7 years old and up. The event will be held at Archer Park, 101 N. Main St., with the race starting and ending at the park.
The registration fee is $20 and the first 300 runners will receive a runner’s shirt and a finisher medal. All proceeds from the race will benefit the local chapter of Team RWB.
