EDINBURG, Texas – Rio Grande Valley Sector (RGV) Border Patrol agents encountered 233 migrants in two large groups.

First Lady Cecilia Abbott today delivered remarks at the U.S. Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce–Southwest Region’s virtual Women in Business Symposium. In her remarks, the First Lady congratulated the chamber members on their leadership in their communities and on the 20th anniversary of the symposium, which for two decades has helped Asian and other minority women-owned businesses achieve success.

The City of McAllen Building Inspections Department would like to urge building owners with flat roofs, including businesses or homes, to inspect their roofs, drains and gutters. Recent heavy and continuous rain events could cause major puddling and clogs which could lead to collapsed roofs or other damages or worse.

The City of McAllen will be distributing sand bags tonight, Tuesday, July 6, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the McAllen Public Works Recycling Center, located at 4101 N. Bentsen Rd.

June saw a strong acceleration in the pace of recovery in the job market.
