Mission Native Serves Aboard U.S. Navy Guided-Missile Destroyer in Pearl Harbor

A 2017 Juarez-Lincoln High School graduate and Mission, Texas, native is serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the guided-missile destroyer, USS Halsey.

The robotics program provided by McAllen ISD is expanding opportunities for students and showing exceptional growth, with teams now present on every district campus from elementary through high school.
During UTRGV’s recent JSTEM Summer Program, area high school students learned how to solve a real-world, original research problem by collaborating on building water biofiltration systems. The camp helped them develop content and skills in specific STEM and JSTEM (Journalism, Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) disciplines.
