New Year, New Hidalgo County Judge

Success in the Valley Didn’t Happen by Itself, Many Great People Helped

More than three decades ago, I had an opportunity to interview Glen E. Roney. He had always been a popular man due to his dedication to the communities of South Texas, and also because of his philanthropic activities.
Six students from McAllen High’s Mariachi Oro will participate in the Texas Music Educators Association All-Region Clinic and Concert March 29-30 in La Joya. They are (L-R) Jesús Villegas (2nd Chair Trumpet), Cristian Contreras (1st Chair Vihuela), Natalie Carmona (2nd Chair Alto Vocals), Ashley Treviño (18th Chair Violin), Andrew Morales (6th Chair Trumpet), Anthony Cisneros (1st Alternate Harp).

McAllen High Mariachi Oro sending six students to All-Region ensemble

Six members of the McAllen High Mariachi Oro have earned spots on the 2019 TMEA (Texas Music Educators Association) All-Region Mariachi Ensembles following auditions held recently.
