On October 21, 2020, the Weslaco Chamber celebrated its 85th year of existence during Texas Chamber of Commerce week! 

The official charter for the Weslaco Chamber was filed in the Office of the Secretary of State on this date in 1935, as stated on the charter, “organizing a business of Chamber of Commerce, to acquire, preserve and disseminate valuable information and generally promote the interest of trade and increase the facilities of commercial transactions in the City of Weslaco and vicinity.” 

The chamber has remained true to its mission of supporting the Mid-Valley business community as our mission states, “Together, with our partners, we provide leadership to advance a prosperous economy that enhances the quality of life in our community.” 

“The Weslaco Chamber of Commerce offers the business community a platform for connectivity to one another. The greatness of any community is measured by the involvement of its members. The chamber has placed community involvement as the number one goal” shared Weslaco Board Chair, Corina Rodriguez, CEO for Weslaco Regional Rehabilitation Hospital. “The Weslaco Chamber measures its success only when it accomplishes the task of lifting its businesses.” 

Texas Chamber of Commerce week is celebrated across the state recognizing the work of chambers of commerce and the communities they represent! This year Weslaco Chamber joined communities across our state to celebrate October 19-23, 2020. “We are proud to represent our business community, and we are thankful to our membership, as the strength of our community is a reflection of this long-standing organization” said, Barbara Jean Garza, Weslaco Chamber CEO. 

The Weslaco Chamber has served the businesses of the Mid Valley since 1935 and looks forward to continued success!
