McAllen, TX  – South Texas College Theatre presents Rick Johnston’s play Cahoots.

The production will run from November 14-16 at 7:30 p.m. and will include a matinee at 2 p.m. on November 17. Performances will take place at STC’s Cooper Center for Communication Arts Main Stage Theatre located at 3201 W. Pecan Blvd. in McAllen.

Cahoots is set in Ken and Jan’s high rise Manhattan high-rise apartment where Jan and her friend Lois are preparing for a dinner party before attending a block association meeting to discuss the current rise of crime which has become an obsession of Lois’ husband, Al.  To prove to Jan and Lois how vulnerable the two are, Al disguises himself as a burglar and terrifies them.  For this, and other offenses, the antagonism between Al and Ken grows until it culminates into a serious problem at the dinner party.  Before the evening is over, our concerned citizens find themselves turned into an expert, if not accidental, criminals.  This comedic farce is incredibly hilarious and demonstrates how things usually do get worse before they get better and concerns about street crime pales in comparison to the chaos created by four good friends at a dinner party.

General admission tickets cost $10. Student, faculty, military, and senior citizens are $5.  The play contains mature themes.  Parental discretion is advised.  Ticket sales from the November 14 production will go towards the Dr. John F. Carroll Drama Scholarship.  The November 17 matinee production will be interpreted in American Sign Language.

Tickets can be purchased with cash or check one hour before the performance at the box office, or in advance online using a credit or debit card at southtexascollege.edu/go/theatre.
