To help seniors in Cameron County better focus on their health and learn ways to prevent diseases, the Rio Grande Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will host its annual senior health and wellness expo Thursday, April 13, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Taking place at the Harlingen Convention Center, the South Texas Senior Summit will feature a series of health screenings geared towards the senior population, including glucose and blood pressure check. Attendees will also be able to visit information booths throughout the venue to learn about the programs and services provided by the likes of Tip of Texas Family Outreach, Valley Association of Independent Living, Tropical Texas Behavioral Health, Cameron County Public Health, Cornerstone Orthopedics, South Texas Health System, Prominence Health Plan, Harlingen Medical, Valley Baptist and more.
Additionally, attendees will be able to play bingo, enjoy special entertainment by local artists and take part in special exercise and recreational demonstrations.
