San Juan, Texas – In an effort to keep our community clean, curb illegal dumping, and assist residents with proper disposal of large waste items, the City of San Juan along with Keep San Juan Beautiful will be hosting a Tire Round-Up and Neighborhood Cleanup this Saturday, July 20, 2019, from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.
During the Tire Round-Up and Neighborhood Cleanup, city staff will have four (4) locations throughout the city with large containers where citizens can make drop-offs to dispose of indoor/outdoor furniture, tires (4 per person), brush, or leaves in plastic bags. All residents must present a utility bill with a photo ID as proof of residence. Non-acceptable items include food waste, appliances containing freon, household hazardous waste, building construction materials, wood, roof shingles, concrete, and sheetrock.
This Neighborhood Cleanup and Tire Round-Up is an effort to prevent illegal dumping on city and drainage right-of-ways, which can impede proper drainage of stormwater and pollute systems.
The drop-off locations are:
- San Juan City Hall (709 S. Nebraska St.)
- San Juan Sports Complex (1419 S. San Antonio)
- San Juan Police Department – North (2301 N. Raul Longoria)
- Reed Mock Elementary (400 E. Eldora Road)
