Texas Border Business
EDINBURG –Hidalgo County is inviting to all rural county residents who have old and unused tires to get rid of them at no cost in the Road to Recycling Regional Tire Collection Event on Saturday, July 20.
Sponsored by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and the Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council, the event seeks to reduce the number of unsightly scrap tires that might be laying around properties. Used tires are a significant source of illegal dumping, and pose significant drainage and vector control challenges.
Only bike, car and light truck tires will be accepted during the Saturday-only event. Please remove all metal rims before disposing of the tires. No commercial tires or waste tires generated from tire businesses will be accepted.
